Instructions
  1. Clean Amla with running water. If couldn’t get fresh Amla use the frozen one.
  2. Grate Amla using by medium hole grater. Keep them aside.
  3. Heat oil in a pan at medium setting. Once its hot add fennel seeds. Once fennel seeds gets slightly golden color, add grated Amla, sugar (or honey) and turmeric powder. Saute it for 1 minutes.
  4. Add 1/2 cup of water and add all the remaining spices,(black pepper powder, chaat masala, cumin powder, crushed fennel seeds & dry ginger). You can vary the proportion a bit as per your taste. Stir it and allow it to cook at low to medium heat with lid on until Amla gets tender and darker in a color. Stir occasionally to avoid burning.
  5. Stir it continuously till Amla mixture gets dry. Once it done, turn off the heat. Let it cool down.
  6. Once its cools down, make small round Amla ball.
  7. Chattpata khatta- meetha Amla candy is ready.
  8. Store it in a glass jar. This candy can be store for 3-4 weeks in airtight jar.
  9. Enjoy Amla candy after lunch or dinner.
