  1. Ingredients for Gulab Jamun.
  2. To prepare the sugar syrup, in a deep pan, add sugar, water and cardamom powder. Let it boil at high heat. Once it start boiling, add few drops of lemon juice and bring the temperature at medium heat. Let it boil for 10 to 12 min. Turn off the heat.
  3. In a mixing bowl, add milk mava powder, rava, all purpose flour, baking soda, citric acid, ghee and cardamom powder. Mix it well. Make gulab jamun dough using warm milk. Make dough by adding milk little by little and ensure the dough is soft. Cover it and keep it for 5 min. Now knead the dough very lightly and make a nice soft dough.
  4. Make equal small size of balls from the dough, apply some milk on palm, take one small dough fill some nuts in to center and make a nice round crack free ball. Make all balls in same fashion. Keep it aside. Keep it covered with clean wet cloth.
  5. Heat oil in a deep pan at high heat, once it hot enough bring the temperature at low to medium heat. Drop one by one jamun in to hot oil. Don’t touch the jamun with spatula just swing the oil so jamun will roll all side. Fry the jamun until dark brown color.
  6. Remove from the hot oil, place on kitchen paper towel to absorb extra oil from the jamun for few sec. Drop it in to hot sugar syrup immediately. Let it soak for 4-5 hr.
  7. Remove the gulab jamun from the sugar syrup and place it in serving bowl.
  8. Gulab Jamun is ready to be served. Enjoy delicious Gulab Jamun with vanilla ice cream.
