Pineapple Jam

Fruit Jam is very common breakfast item and readily available in grocery stores. This recipe is to prepares Jam from fresh pineapple at home. Fresh Jam always tastes better than stored ones and you can add your flavors to this based on your taste. This recipe is from my sister Priyanka who makes it so well and tasty. This Jam is little different that regular jam as it is slightly spiced with pepper powder, chili flakes, cinnamon powder and garam masala powder. You can either use cut store bought pineapple or cut fresh pineapple. The Jam can be stored in glass jar for about 2 months in refrigerator.

Ingredients
Instructions
  1. Chop pineapple in to small cubes size.
  2. Grind it in a grinder to make a course puree.
  3. Put the ground pineapple and sugar in a medium sauce pan. Cook it over medium heat for 15 minutes and stir at times. Add pepper powder, salt, chili flakes and pinch of Orange food color(optional) and cook till mixture gets thicker consistency.
  4. Add amchoor powder or lemon juice, cinnamon powder and garam masala powder to the pan and mix it nicely. Cook for about 30 second more.
  5. Once its done, turn off the heat. Pineapple jam is ready. Let it cool down.
  6. Transfer Jam in to air tight glass jar.
  7. Store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 months.
  8. Enjoy homemade pineapple jam with bread.
