  1. Sift powder sugar using a strainer and keep it aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat butter, shortening with stand electric mixer until light & fluffy at low speed. Add vanilla extract and beat.
  3. Gradually add sifted powder sugar 1/2 cup and continue to beat it nicely at medium speed. Scrape the side and bottom of the bowl often and beat again.
  4. After adding all the sugar, mixture will appear dry so add one tbsp of whole milk and beat until mixture gets light & fluffy.
  5. Fluffy & light buttercream frosting is ready for decorating cupcakes or cakes.
  6. This consistency is perfect for making rose, making border or using Russian piping tip to make beautiful flowers on cupcakes.
