  1. Clean one cup kala chana with water two to three times, and soak it in water for overnight. Before preparation drain all water and boil it in a pressure cooker along with 3 cups of water and salt for 3-4 whistles at medium to high heat. Once it’s done, let it cool naturally. Drain all the water and keep the chana aside.
  2. Heat 3 tbsp oil in kadhi/pan at medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add cumin seeds. Wait till cumin seeds turn brown in color. Add chilies and saute for a few seconds. Add onion, garlic and little salt. Saute the onion till it gets sweaty about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add boiled chana and stir.
  4. Stir and fry chana till onion gets mushy.
  5. Add chaat masala and coriander leaves, then stir. Turn off the heat.
  6. Delicious and healthy chana fry or ghugni is ready for serving.
  7. Enjoy your breakfast with a cup of tea.
