Mini Pizza Tart

Pizza is a popular American food which is readily available in many restaurants. Kids always get very excited just hearing the word Pizza, but we all know it contains a lot of cheese and is not very healthy if consumed regularly. Therefore, when you prepare it at home you can control your own ingredients and make it more healthier. You could reduce the amount of cheese as well as add more veggies or meat. To make mini pizza tart, you will need mini tart pans which are available in stores. For a more appealing look, add handles to your pizza tart as shown in this recipe. I am sure your guest and kids would be impressed with this mini pizza tart.

Instructions
  1. Cut all veggies and grilled chicken and keep them aside.
  2. To make mini pizza tart, you will need mini tart pan.
  3. In a bowl heat 3/4 cup milk for 45 sec. Add sugar and dry yeast and mix it well. Cover it and let it proof for 10 minutes. In a standing electric mixer bowl, add all purpose flour, thyme, rava, salt, oil and yogurt. Mix at low speed fitted with a dough hook, add proofed yeast into flour and mix at the lowest speed until all the flour has been incorporated.
  4. When the dough starts to come together, increase the speed to medium and mix until dough get nice and soft. Turn off the dough mixer.
  5. Take out dough from bowl on wooden surface and fold the dough 6-7 times using back and forth motion until dough gets smooth and gets elastic consistency. Grease some oil in same bowl which we use for kneading the dough. Place the dough in a bowl and cover it with plastic wrap or plate.
  6. Let it rise at a warm spot until doubled in size for about 2 hour. Once dough is raised nicely, roll and stretch the dough into a cylinder shape and divide the dough into 12 equal Tennis ball size.
  7. If you want to decorate it with handle make it first. Take one dough ball on rolling board. Dust with flour and roll it thin in to oval shape. Cut into long thin strip.
  8. Take one dough strip and place it into tart mold in circular shape as shown in picture. Lightly press with fingers so that it take proper shape. Preheat oven at 400 degree F and place it into oven. Let it bake till golden color. Once it done, remove from oven. Let it cool down.
  9. To start making pizza tart, take one ball on rolling board. Dust with flour and roll it in to 4 mm thick base in round shape.
  10. Place the round pizza base on tart mold and press the rolled dough in to corners and up the side by fingers to give a right shape. Cut out the extra dough from tart mold. Make all six tarts base following the same process.
  11. Per heat the oven at 400 degree F. in baking mode. Fork the dough all over the tart pan.
  12. Apply some pizza sauce.
  13. Sprinkle some veggies and chicken over the tart evenly. You can add your own favorite topping as well.
  14. Sprinkle some cheese on it as per your taste.
  15. Place the pizza tart in preheated oven at middle rack and bake it for 12-13 minutes or till slightly golden color from top.
  16. Cut 1/4 part of handle which you had made earlier and place it on pizza while it is hot to that it gets stick to it.
  17. Delicious and beautiful cute mini pizza tarts with handle are ready to be served.
  18. Remove from tart mold.
  19. Cut into four pieces.
  20. Serve it as a appetizer to your guest.
Recipe Notes
  • You can make pizza dough ahead of time and store in zip-lock bag in fridge. Before using the dough, take it out from fridge and bring it room temperature.
  • You should make handles before baking pizza if you need that and place it on Pizza when it is hot so that it sticks well.
  • You can also use  wheat pizza dough or spinach pizza dough for this recipe.
