Strawberry yogurt sorbet

Strawberry sorbet is prepared from yogurt and strawberry. This is much lighter than ice cream however tastes as good as that. You would love it during summer without putting much calories in your diet. If you don’t have ice cream machine, please see my recipe notes below.

Instructions
  1. Main ingredients for strawberry sorbet.
  2. Grind the strawberries and make a nice paste. Strain the strawberry puree through the fine sieve and keep it aside.
  3. In a pan, add sugar and water, boil at medium heat until the sugar has completely dissolved for about 2-3 minutes. Add lemon zest and mix it. Remove from the heat and let it cool down and refrigerate the mixture for 25 minutes.
  4. In a deep pan add yogurt, vanilla extract and strawberry and mix very well. Take out the sugar mix from refrigerator and add this strawberry mix and mix it very well. Place the ice cream machine bowl in the freezer for about 5 - 6 hours.
  5. Pour the strawberry mixture in to the ice cream machine and run the ice cream machine as per instruction. Once done, it will look like slushy texture.
  6. Transfer the mixture in a ice tray or plastic container and freeze it for 2 hrs.
  7. Scoop it in a serving bowl.
  8. Strawberry sorbet is ready to be served. Serve it chilled with fruit or just enjoy as is in summer.
Recipe Notes

If you don't have ice cream machine, freeze the mixture prepared in step 4  for 2 hours first then take it out and mix it using fork all around. Put it back in to the freezer, take out after 45 minutes, and mix it using fork, and repeat this whole process for at least 5 times.
