Non-Fried Veg Tofu Manchurian Dry

Vegetable Tofu Manchurian is an Indo-Chinese dish. It is a very flavorful, tangy and sweet & sour dish which everyone loves. Generally Manchurian balls are deep fried however this recipe tries a roasted Manchurian ball which gives exactly the same flavor and texture. The grated vegetables, bell peppers and tofu tiny balls, flavored with ginger-garlic and coated with varieties of sauce makes it delightful recipe. I have used Appam pan to roast the vegetable tofu balls however if you don’t have Appam pan you can either use any pan to roast for even bake it in oven. Similar to other Manchurian recipe this can either dry Manchurian or with gravy. Gravy Manchurian goes very well with Chinese fried rice or just plain rice. Ingredients
For Vegetable Tofu Manchurian

Instructions
  1. Squeezes all the water from tofu. Wrap it in a kitchen towel to absorb any extra moisture from tofu for about 10 minutes.
  2. Grate cabbage, carrot and beans using food processor or chop them very fine. Mash tofu by hand. Once its done, keep it aside.
  3. Combine all ingredients (shredded cabbage, carrot, beans, Tofu, all purpose flour, corn starch, black pepper powder, baking powder, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, rava or sooji and salt to taste) in mixing bowl, mix it well and cover it keep it aside for 10 minutes.
  4. Heat the Appam pan at medium heat. Make tiny veg tofu balls and dust it into corn starch. Keep it in a plate. Make all remaining balls following the same process.
  5. Sprinkle some oil in Appam cavity, place the balls into it. Roast it from all sides till golden color at medium heat. Make all Manchurian balls following the same process.
  6. Once its done, keep it on paper towel.
  7. In parallel prepare the sauce for Manchurian. In a bowl, add all sauces as listed in ingredients (soy sauce, all in one sauce, tomato puree, tomato ketchup, Vinegar, Chili garlic sauce, Sesame oil (til oil), sugar, sweet & sour chili sauce). Mix all the sauce very well and keep it aside. Chop ginger- garlic, bell peppers, spring onion and onion. Keep it aside. In another bowl, mix corn starch with 1/4 cup of water and keep it aside.
  8. Heat oil in frying pan at medium to high heat. Add ginger- garlic into it, saute it till gets slightly golden color. Add onion, green chili and saute it for 45 sec. Add bell peppers, saute it for 1 minute. Stir it continuously to avoid burning.
  9. Add the mixture of sauce and saute it for few sec. Add corn starch liquid and saute it for few sec.
  10. When you are ready to serve, add tofu veggie Manchurian balls into sauce and mix it very well. Do not mix both in a advance otherwise Vegetable Tofu Manchurian would not remain crunchy.
  11. Vegetable tofu Manchurian is ready to be served.
  12. Enjoy as an appetizer.
