Dahi poori & Papdi Chaat

Dahi poori & papdi chaat is a popular street fast food all over India.There are variety of chaats which could be made from the same ingredients. These tempting tangy, crunchy, chatpata chaat are loved by every one and it’s really easy to prepare at home.

  1. In a mixing bowl, add all purpose flour, carom seeds, ghee, baking powder, salt & rava. Mix it well. Add lukewarm water slowly and make a semi tight dough. Cover it and keep it aside for 15 minutes.
  2. Divide the dough in a equal size round balls and cover it to avoid getting dry. Take one ball of dough and roll it by using the rolling pin and make medium thickness circle. Cut into small circular pieces using cookie cutter, punch it using fork. Cover it and keep it aside.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan at medium to high heat. Once oil is hot, reduce the temperature at low to medium heat. Drop the papdi in a hot oil. Fry it both side till golden brown at low to medium heat. Remove the fried papdi on paper towel so that excess oil gets absorbed.
  4. Crunchy & crispy papdi is ready for the chaat. It can be stored in a air tight container for 2-3 weeks.
  5. Ingredients for the dahi poori papdi chaat.
  6. In a serving plate, place the papdi, on top add boiled mashed potato and boiled chick peas, some onion, add sweet curd. Sprinkle green chutney and sweet chutney on top of the chaat. Sprinkle chaat masala, black salt, salt, roasted cumin & chili powder on top. Garnish with coriander leaves. Dahi papdi chaat is ready to be served.
  7. To make dahi poori chaat. In a serving plate, place some poori (golgappa), create opening at the top and add boiled mashed potato and chick peas, sprinkle some onion, sweet curd, sweet chutney, chaat masala, black salt, salt, some moong dal sprout, roasted cumin & chili powder, some tomato and coriander leaves and serve.
  8. Serve hot favorite chaat as snacks.
