Chana Sundal

Chana Sundal or Chana fry is a very simple and easy recipe. There are verity of sandal recipe which you can prepare.  This recipe is made during Navratri celebration and also offered as prasad to Goddess Durga. The recipe prepared using black chickpeas (kala chana) & kabuli chana. You can make it only with black chana also. The Chana sundal can be used a tea time snacks. Kids love it too for their lunch boxes.

Instructions
  1. Soak both the chanas into water overnight. Next day, drain all the water from chana and boil them together with 3 cups of water and 1-1/2 tsp salt for 4-5 cooker whistle. Chana should get cook nicely. Once boiling is done, drain the water from chana and keep it aside.
  2. Heat oil in a kadhai or frying pan at medium heat. Once oil is hot, add mustard seeds and cumin seeds, wait till mustard seeds crackles and cumin seeds gets slightly brown color. Add curry leaves into it and saute it for few sec. Add boiled chana and saute it for 2 minutes.
  3. Add chaat masala, black salt and red chili powder. Saute it for few sec. Turn off the heat and add shredded coconut and little salt and mix it well.
  4. Chana sundal or chana fry is ready to be offered to celebrate Navratri puja.
  5. Served it with halva & poori for Kanya Pujan.
  6. Serve it as a snack along with a cup of tea.
