Peanut Chutney

Peanut chutney is one of many chutneys in Indian recipes like coconut chutney, tomato chutney and so on. This is a little rich as the main ingredient is peanut for this recipe which is grounded and mixed with some special spices. It is a great compliment to various south Indian dishes like Dosa, Idli and Utapam.

Chutney Preperation
  1. Ingredients for Peanut chutney.
  2. Heat oil in a pan at medium heat. Add whole red chilies, curry leaves and garlic. Sauté it until garlic gets slightly golden color. Add Onion and saute it for 3 minutes at medium heat.
  3. Add roasted peanut, salt and tamarind paste and mix well. Turn off the heat. Let it cool down.
  4. Grind the mixture and make a nice paste.
For Tempering
  1. Heat 1 tsp oil, add mustard seeds and curry leaves, and sauté until it gets brown. Pour the tempering mixture on chutney paste. Peanut Chutney is ready to be served with idli or dosa.
