Samosa Chaat

Mouthwatering Samosa chaat is a very famous north Indian street food. We love chaats and there are variety of chaats you could find in India which look very tempting and taste awesome. To make samosa chaat you will need samosas, for which you can find the recipe on my website (samosa recipe here). The crushed samosa is served with dry green peas or yellow peas masala along with sweet tamarind and mint chutney. Chatpata chaat is loved by everyone. It is easy to prepare at home and gives great satisfaction to your taste buds.

for Channa masala
  1. Soak the dry green peas in to water over night.
  2. Ingredients for Channa masala. Drain the water from the peas, Boil the peas into water along with 2 tsp salt for 2 whistle or until peas gets soft approximately 10 minutes. Keep it aside.
  3. Heat oil in a kadhai, once it hot reduce the flame to medium heat, add cumin seeds and bay leaves. Once it starts crackling, add onion, hing and garlic- ginger paste and little salt. Saute for 5-6 minutes or until onion gets golden brown.
  4. Add tomatoes, turmeric powder and red chili in to it. Saute it for 5 minutes or till tomato gets mushy.
  5. Add coriander and cumin powder, channa masala powder, Garam masala. Saute for 2-3 minutes at medium heat. Add chaat masala and freshly grated nutmeg powder. Saute it for 1 min.
  6. Add boiled peas in to it and stir it nicely.
  7. Add 1/2 cup water and boil for 3 minutes. Turn off the heat.
  8. Chole is ready for samosa chaat. Let it cool.
For Samosa chaat
  1. Ingredients for samosa chaat. To serve the samosa chaat, take some chole in a plate, break one samosa and place it on chole, Sprinkle some onion, tomato, some sweet curd, sweet chutney, coriander and mint chutney, some chaat masala, pinch of black salt, some chili powder, coriander leaves and some sev on it.
  2. Mouthwatering Samosa chaat is ready to be served.
